Central Laboratory of Firing Techniques and Explosives

In the laboratory, students are introduced to the basic properties of explosives for civilian use, i.e. sensitivity to impact, relative working capacity, burning test, and detonation velocity. Students are also introduced to practical activities during blasting operations and the safe handling of blasting agents. Classes are also conducted for participants of training in access to explosives for civilian use as part of the operation of the Vocational Training Centre. The laboratory is located in an old quarry which makes it possible to study the impact of detonation of explosive materials on the environment, i.e. seismic vibrations and air shock waves. The unit has a mobile laboratory for seismic vibration measurements.
