Laboratory of Micromeritics

The laboratory carries out research and measurements of physical and chemical properties of mineral raw materials, waste, and contaminants in the field of e.g. grain compositions, geometrical properties of particles, density and elemental composition. The laboratory is equipped with:

  • laser diffraction analyser ANALYSETTE 22 MicroTec, enabling measurement of particle size distribution in liquids in the range of 10 nm÷1000 µm,
  • vision analyser Analysette 28 ImageSizer using the Dynamic Image Analysis (DIA) method for measurement of size and shape of particles in motion. Dry measurement in the grain size range from 0.1mm to 20mm,
  • HAVER EML 315 laboratory shaker for wet and dry sieve analysis in the grain size range 20 µm ÷ 25mm,
  • helium pycnometer Micromeritics Multivolume Pycnometer 1305 for powder density measurements
  • Olympys X-5000 mobile spectrometer for elemental composition measurements (EDXRF).
