Celebration Of Miner’s Holiday – Barbórka AGH
Barbórka in the walls of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow is a celebration of all graduates, miners and its supporters. This holiday is deeply inscribed in the traditions of the University. Still, it is also an important cultural event in Krakow, where observers and participants can learn about the mining traditions. The Barbórka celebrations at the AGH University of Science and Technology are extraordinary and recognized by our community and foreign guests.
In this challenging period related to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, we hope to meet within the walls of our Alma Mater. Together, preserving the tradition and safety rules, we will celebrate St. Barbara’s Day. This year’s celebration of Barbórka at AGH University of Science and Technology will take place on December 9 and 10, 2021.
Barbórka in AGH cannot take place without the participation of our Students, Graduates and faithful Friends.
Today we would like to extend a cordial invitation to all of you: “Come to Barbórka to AGH”.

- 17:00 Summary of the Conference of Students’ Scientific Circles of the Mining Division – presentation of diplomas – Aula Pav. A0
December 10, 2021
- 8:30 a.m. Solemn Mass at the Collegiate Church of St. Anna;
- 13:00 Ceremonial Meeting of the AGH UST Senate on the occasion of the Miner’s Day – Aula Pav. A0 and “Traditional Leap Through the Skin” in the peacock hall. A0
Biesiada Górnicza – Miners’ feast
The culmination of the Barbórka celebrations at AGH University of Science and Technology is the annual Miners’ Feast. Old thatched roofs celebrate the mining year’s summary with adepts of both sexes’ mining art.
According to the beer law, feasting together brings generations together, teaches respect for tradition and our Almae Matris.
Biesiada Górnicza has been postponed to February 10, 2022. Please update your calendars accordingly.
Join the celebration, February 10, 2022, will be a day of celebration when everyone will gather together and sit down at a shared table.
