Atlas osuwisk miasta Krakowa /praca zbiorowa pod redakcją Antoniego Wójcika, ed. 2019 | The atlas of landslides of the City of Krakow was developed by a team of experts from the Geohazards Center of the PGI-NRI under the editorship of professor dr hab. Antoni Wójcik, and issued by the Department of Environmental Management of the City of Krakow. It is a comprehensive study. The overriding goal of the publication is to raise the landslide awareness of the inhabitants of the agglomeration, investors and geologists performing geological and engineering research for the needs of planned construction investments. Publishing the results of research in the area of mass movements in publicly available publications is related to the recently growing phenomenon of the so-called landslide amnesia. The first chapters of the study present the history of the recognition of mass movements in Krakow, the conditions for their development, as well as methods of landslide research and methods of stabilization and counteracting their effects, with an emphasis on those that were carried out within the city. The main part of the study is the characteristics of selected landslides divided into geological structural units. Descriptions of landslides have been enriched with numerous drawings, maps and photographs.

Kopaliny i surowce mineralne województwa małopolskiego / opracowanie zbiorowe pod redakcją Barbary Radwanek-Bąk i Pawła Kucia, ed. 2018 | A study on natural resources, prepared by the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute and the Department of the Environment of the Marshal’s Office of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Krakow. It is a real compendium of knowledge about the mineral resources of this region. The cooperation of the Carpathian Branch of the PGI-NRI with the Department of the Environment of the Marshal’s Office of the Małopolskie Voivodeship in Kraków resulted in numerous thematic studies on the geology and mineral resources of Małopolska. In 2018, our latest joint work entitled “Minerals and mineral resources of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship”, published under the editorship of prof. dr hab. Eng. Barbara Radwanek-Bąk and mgr inż. Paweł Kucia. The publication presents the complex geological structure of the Małopolskie Voivodeship, one of the most diverse in comparison to other voivodships. The variety of geological processes has created conditions for the formation of many valuable minerals.
Mapa zagospodarowania wód podziemnych zaliczanych do kopalin w Polsce : skala 1:1 000 000 / opracowanie: Agnieszka Felter, Ewa Filippovits, Izabella Gryszkiewicz, Dorota Lasek-Woroszkiewicz, Lesław Skrzypczyk, Mariusz Socha, Jakub Sokołowski, Małgorzata Sosnowska, Jadwiga Stożek, Agnieszka Wrzosek ; redakcja: Anna Majewska, ed. 2021 | The map of the management of underground waters classified as minerals in Poland was developed at the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute. The first study was published in 2015 and contained information on curative, thermal and brine waters valid at the end of the previous year. Due to the dynamic increase in the number of documented deposits and resources, as well as the great interest of recipients, the map is updated annually and available in digital form. Each edition of the map contains information on the occurrence of medicinal, thermal and brine waters – which are considered minerals in accordance with the Geological and Mining Law – their physical and chemical characteristics, exploitation resources, the method and intensity of development and planned investments related to their recognition. Data on areas particularly predisposed to exploration and intake of this type of water are also presented.
Drucker F. P.: Zarządzanie wiedzą, ed. 2006 | The presented book is a collection of articles devoted to knowledge management methods. They appeared in the Harvard Business Review – a journal valued by managers, scientists and entrepreneurs, published by one of the most prestigious universities in the world. The authors of the articles are recognized experts in the field of management. In their articles, they describe the principles of solving problems in organizations, defining new ways of thinking, drawing conclusions from their own experiences and managing the intellectual potential of employees.
Mining waste management in the Baltic Sea Region : Min-Novation project, red. M. Cała. Ed. 2013 | Waste extraction and handling is a common challenge faced by businesses, local authorities, environmental organisations, policy makers and increasingly other stakeholders in several countries in the Baltic Sea region. In 2011-2013, the scientific and regional knowledge network of the Min-Novation project drew attention to this topic. The importance of managing waste from the mining industry results from the significant share of this waste in the overall waste stream generated in the EU. Mining waste is also the raw material for 1 of the more visible man-made objects that surround us, with waste heaps of all shapes and sizes scattered throughout the Baltic Sea region. Despite this dual meaning, mining waste is most often viewed as merely an environmental problem, not a resource. A one-sided view of extractive waste needs to be moved away, a life-cycle approach is essential, recognizing that value can be recovered from waste and reintroduced into the production cycle, as extractive waste is a source of secondary raw materials. The Min-Novation network has worked for 3 years to understand and value mining waste as a corporate, social, regulatory and strategic issue. Against the backdrop of mining and waste management activities in the partner countries of Estonia, Finland, Germany, Norway, Poland and Sweden, this monograph presents both good practice and problem areas to be addressed. The purpose of this monograph is to show a cross-section of issues that affect the functioning of mining waste management today and which will have a decisive impact on whether mining waste management will remain primarily a local issue or will become an opportunity of national and EU importance. The monograph focuses primarily on issues related to the management of waste from the mining industry in the countries whose representatives were involved in the Min-Novation project. Examples from outside the Baltic Sea region of the use of heaps as an industrial heritage of mining regions, as well as as an attraction for local communities, were also presented.
Korpal E.: Funkcje specjalne, ed. 2001 | The presented work presents a branch of mathematics that goes beyond the classical engineering education program, which, however, may prove to be very helpful, and perhaps even necessary in solving a number of scientific, research and engineering problems that require the use of advanced computational methods. The area of the conducted considerations covers the basics of the most important – in the author’s opinion – special functions and their applications in solving some problems of modern mathematical physics. The work allows you to get acquainted with the properties of special functions, as well as the techniques of proving their theorems, which may play an important role from the point of view of their applications. therefore, special emphasis was placed on asymptotic expansions of the function. Some unconventional methods of finding solutions to non-stationary equations with the use of the generalized Laplace integral were also pointed out.
Bierski F.: Funkcje zespolone, Ed. 1999 | Integral transformations are a branch of applied mathematics based on the knowledge of the basic properties and applications of the Laplace and Fourier transforms. The Laplace transform is mainly used in digital signal processing, electronics and automation. The use in automation consists, among others, in the fact that when we want to know the dynamic properties of an object, we ask about its transmittance, which is expressed by the Laplace transformation. The book is divided into 4 chapters: 1. “Complex Functions”, 2. “Trigonometric Series and Fourier Transforms”, 3. Laplace Transforms, 4. “Laurent Transforms (Z). Difference equations”. The book contains many typical examples and tasks done at technical universities, with answers.
Bierski F.: Struktury algebraiczne, ed. 1999 | The book is a collection of elements from the theory of algebraic structures, matrix algebra, determinants, a system of linear equations, linear transformations and elements from the theory of matrix analysis from the introduction to the system of linear differential equations and additional forms. It contains many tasks and tasks for solutions. |
