Together, we support secondary schools.
The Project, which we have been implementing for over thirteen months, supporting the Lodz company GroMar, operating in the technology services market, responds to the challenges of today’s education. The expert team responsible for the substantive contribution consists of the Faculty’s employees – representatives of the renowned Krakow university – the AGH University of Science and Technology. At the same time, FCE&RM students are employed for the Project and have the opportunity to develop their professional awareness and gain references thanks to this experience.
The primary purpose of the prepared materials is to support secondary school students in deciding to choose to study in technical faculties. Thanks to the attractive materials adapted to the current high digital standards, which include simulated, practical work operations (e.g. in the form of virtual reality – VR), students will have the opportunity to acquire specialist knowledge in a unique profession before entering a university. Thus, they will increase their awareness of the functioning of industry 4.0 and the processes carried out in it.
The modern form of the Project, which includes activating work methods and digital, interactive materials that arouse cognitive curiosity, is conducive to learning through commitment and has been adapted to the contemporary, multitasking student from the “multitasking generation”.
GroMar – our partner and specialist in the IT industry
GroMar is one of the fastest-growing companies in Central Europe (Deloitte Technology Fast 50, 2020). It has been operating in the technology services market since 1999, providing tools for business and employee development and supporting teaching processes in schools and universities – incl. Thanks to the provision of the proprietary LMS LearnWay platform or the construction of one of the largest educational platforms for education – ZPE.
The company employs over 100 specialists in the IT industry, and project management creates modern digital solutions such as e-learning and newer technologies, which certainly include: Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), 2D models and animations, 3D and photos and videos made in the 360° technique.
Rich experience and achievements (over 8 million platform users, 1,000 completed e-learning projects, 350 cooperating companies and corporations) place GroMar among the best specialists in the IT industry.
The Project is an opportunity to develop students’ professional experience.
The materials for the Project are created in cooperation with specialists from GroMar and the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Resource Management at AGH. Industry practitioners provided expert knowledge. The team of Project authors also includes students of WILiGZ who, during their studies, acquire professional experience in the fastest-growing industry, combining it with the knowledge and experience gained at the Faculty.
The Project involves 50 GroMar specialists, 13 WILiGZ specialists and over 51 students of our university.
The contribution and involvement of students in the material production process remain invaluable for the Project itself and their personal development.
Thanks to their involvement in this venture, they got to know the business world and had the opportunity to learn how to establish and maintain relationships. Understanding the current needs of the labour market, they had the opportunity to test and experience teamwork in practice, without which the Project would not have a chance of success. They learned to manage time and organize their work, and thus – they got to know what independence and responsibility are.
Developed personality-building competencies will undoubtedly prove helpful in the development of their professional career, as well as in assuming a leadership position in the future. The most advantageous fields of study are those that offer the development of professional experience while studying.
