In the New Year we have to offer mainly literature in the field of construction, but not only. We recommend the latest edition of “Technologia betonu” by Krzysztof Zieliński, as well as the first compendium of knowledge on business process management and methods and tools used in BPM on the publishing market. (first position in the table). This month we also have for you three interesting titles published by the University of Economics Publishing House, which, although not the latest, may be interesting for enthusiasts of this type of issues.

Dumas M., La Rosa M., Mendling J., Reijers H. A: Business process managment, ed. 2022	The first compendium of knowledge on business process management and methods and tools used in BPM on the publishing market. The authors take up the challenge of a synthetic approach to current BPM methods and tools. They describe them in a coherent and concise manner. The book brings consistency and order to methods that have hitherto often been created, discussed and used in isolation. It draws on the latest in applied BPM research and scientifically developed practices, making it data-driven rather than faith-based. The publication is a textbook. There is no such complete and exhaustive publication on process management on the Polish market. Therefore, the book can be used not only as a textbook for classes with students, but also as a manual for implementing BPM in private and public sector organizations.
Paulo A.: Polska wyprawa naukowa do Peru: czy pójdziesz w nasze ślady? ed. 2017	The eleventh book in the “Science for the Curious” series is devoted to the Polish Scientific Expedition to Peru. The author of the publication, Professor Andrzej Paulo, is a reservoir and economic geologist. For many years he headed the Department of Economic Geology and Deposit Protection. He made over twenty-five scientific and mountaineering-scientific expeditions. He led research expeditions in Mongolia and the Sahara, finding deposits of iron and manganese ores there. He marked out new, difficult high-mountain passages, e.g. in the Karakoram, Andes and Alaska. He is the author and co-author of many textbooks. Since 2006, he has been managing the research of the Polish Scientific Expedition to Peru. The expeditions are also attended by students financially supported by the rectors of the AGH University of Science and Technology. The aim of the project is, among others the creation of a national park or geopark covering the Colca Canyon and the Valley of the Volcanoes.
Strzyżewski J.: Grzejnictwo elektryczne, ed. 2012	The presented guide presents issues related to the use of electricity in heating technology, in particular: various ways of heating rooms, preparation of domestic hot water, the use of electricity to protect the building and its surroundings, special applications of electric heating. It is very useful for all people designing and modernizing a house, who want to heat it in the best and cheapest way possible, it can be very helpful for real estate administrators and developers. It shows non-standard ways of using electric heating. A valuable supplement to the guide are numerous illustrations, tables and examples, as well as 2 appendices, devoted to rescuing people electrocuted, putting out electrical devices – and thus issues necessary for practically everyone.
Gonet A.,  Knez D., Macuda J., Stryczek S.: Selected issues of wellbore hydraulics and cementing, ed. 2017	The monograph is an important part of research in the field of drilling engineering conducted at the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas, AGH University of Science and Technology. Energy has become one of the hottest issues around the world. Both the United Europe and Poland are keenly interested in the problems of energy security. Energy intensity and sources of supply are crucial for domestic trade. The development of Polish oil and gas deposits is probably becoming more important than in previous centuries. For this reason, drilling as part of the oil and gas industry will be very important in this era. Currently, energy science is developing very rapidly. Drilling engineering is also showing significant progress. The science of drilling fluids represents a vast body of knowledge. For this reason, the monograph covers only the most important issues in the field of well hydraulics and cementing.
Zieliński K.: Podstawy technologii betonu, wyd. 2022	New edition! The handbook is intended for students of the field of construction as basic reading for laboratory exercises and supplementary literature for lectures on building materials and concrete technology. It contains basic information on common cements, special cements and aggregates for concrete. The methods of testing the most important physical and mechanical properties of the basic components of concrete: cement, aggregate and water were discussed. Test methods for ordinary and polymer-modified building mortars have been described. The basics of ordinary concrete technology were presented: standard guidelines, principles of designing and using additives and admixtures, as well as tests of selected physical and mechanical properties of concrete mix and concrete. Classification, ingredients are givenand basics of lightweight aggregate concrete design and information on cellular concrete. There are 24 calculation examples in the book. All standards referred to in the manual were valid on the date of completion of work on the text, i.e. July 1, 2021.
Grabowski M.: Naukowa legitymizacja obszaru systemów informacyjnych zarządzania, ed. 2011	The work defines the achievements and directions for the development of management information systems in the years 1977–2006 in the field of cognitive-theoretical aspects of this area of science and practice. The multifaceted discourse is essentially limited to two issues. The first is to define the essence and role of the concept of theory in MIS. The second issue concerns the determination of a coherent and stable thematic core of SIZ, which, due to the constantly progressing technological changes, is characterized by high volatility of detailed research topics over time. The structure connecting the set research goals is a conceptual model defined on the basis of the theory of integrative studies, presenting the SIZ domain as an interdisciplinary area, which allows for the achievement of the goals of the work in a consistent manner. In the empirical layer, proprietary methods combining the concepts of bibliometrics, exploratory text analysis and information retrieval were used to analyze 2,350 abstracts of articles published in 1977–2006 in five renowned SIZ journals: MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, European Journal of Information Systems, Journal of Information Technology and the Information Systems Journal.
Fatuła D.: Zachowania polskich gospodarstw domowych na rynku finansowym ed. 2010	This study looks at the financial behavior of households, not only in the context of goals related to broadly understood savings and investments, but also in the area of meeting consumer needs. The author presents the nature of financial needs and the conditions for their satisfaction. The author also reviews the theory in terms of factors shaping household savings both in the short and long term. Particular attention was paid to psychological and social factors, which, apart from economic ones, are currently of key importance for understanding the essence and process of saving and explaining certain irrationality in broadly understood financial behavior. In the practical part, the author presents the results of his own research on time preferences, attitudes towards risk, perception of financial products and market information, which can bring closer the motives and attitudes towards saving and investing. It presents the structure of financial assets of Polish households and changes in this structure in the years 2000-2008. In the final part, the author segments Polish households on the basis of data on the characteristics of households and their planned and actual purchases of financial products. It uses a method that allows you to find segmentation criteria as a result of statistical procedures, while taking into account data coded in different scales. The aim of the study is to better understand the nature, motives and factors driving financial behavior, which may prove useful in shaping financial education, economic policy in the area of stimulating long-term saving and marketing strategies of financial institutions.
Wąsikiewicz -Rusnak U.: Międzynarodowe programy i systemy zarządzania środowiskowego w przedsiębiorstwach przemysłowych, ed. 2009.	The study presents the situation of an industrial enterprise in two contexts. The first one is the assessment of the impact of the business entity’s activity on the natural environment and, consequently, the reduction of its environmental pressure. The second is a presentation of the effects of the implemented pro-ecological activities and their importance for the functioning and development of the company itself. The data used for the empirical research covers the years 1995-2005. One of the chapters of the work discusses international environmental management programs in the company, i.e. the Cleaner Production Program, the “Responsibility and Care” Program, Environmental Management according to ISO 14000 and the EU eco-management and audit system – EMAS
Ilościowe określanie cieplnych właściwości przegród budowlanych z wykorzystaniem techniki termograficznej, edited by A. Wróbel. Ed. 2011	This is an item on thermography and its application in the construction industry for the energy performance of a building, with particular emphasis on building partitions. The authors show, based on the measurements and tests carried out in the laboratory, but also in real buildings, the possibility of using thermography to quantitatively determine the thermal insulation of building partitions.
