September 25 @ 08:00 – 17:00
The second edition of the Summer Pilot School implemented as part of the EnAct-SDGs project is behind us. 2nd Pilot School EnAct SDGs workshops took place on September 21-23, 2021. The event was attended by students from Poland (from the Faculty of Civil Engineering & Resource Management AGH), Greece, Slovakia, Italy and Chile. Although the training was originally supposed to take place in Krakow, due to the situation, all workshops were conducted online.
The practical part was about innovation and entrepreneurship in the raw materials industry. It was divided into workshop sessions, during which the students worked in groups of 3-4, and general sessions, in which the trainers presented the issues and challenges that the participants had to face. The school curriculum was based on the Sustainable Development Goals and the principles of the circular economy. Students worked in international teams to tackle the challenges they identified in the broadly understood raw materials sector.
During the workshops, students learned to use innovative tools and developed an innovative way of thinking, helpful in the development of their professional career. Work during the workshops was based on developing the next steps in solving specific issues. The participants’ task was to identify the problem, define it, review the available technologies and similar solutions implemented in various sectors, and then present their own proposal, including its assessment and analysis of implementation possibilities. The projects were assessed by a group of scientists and experts in terms of, among others: content, creativity and presentation.
Apart from the representatives of universities: such as TU Freiberg, Montanuniversität Leoben, UniTrento and Hub Innovation Trentino, there were also representatives of the Polish industry. The lecturers included Mr. Rafał Szkop from The Polish Copper Employers’ Association, giving presentations about social license to operate, and Mr. Tomasz Trześniowski from SGPR.Tech, who shared his knowledge and experience in the field of modern approach in the raw materials industry. We would like to thank all the trainers and students for their input and active participation during the workshop. Soon another event in the series of pilot schools of the EnAct-SDGs project. We sincerely invite everyone to participate and join the stakeholder network. Details of the project can be found on the website at: https://enactsdgs.fberg.tuke.sk/
