Didactic immersion laboratory
VRoom – Virtual Reality Room is a teaching laboratory established at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Resource Management. Immersive technologies, particularly Virtual Reality (VR), are the essence of the digital transformation that we have been observing for several years in engineering industries. ‘One picture is worth more than a thousand words is a statement that engineers who use the language of schema, drawing, design, and 3D model are particularly fond of. The use of Virtual Reality is a milestone in using the language of the image, allowing not only to present the existing or planned engineering environments faithfully but above all to immerse yourself in it, becoming its integral part.
The future of education is virtual reality.
VR in education consists of teaching materials in the form of interactive films360. By moving from the lecture room to the virtual one, you can make technical visits to several production plants on one day on several continents. Thanks to VR, you can now see engineering facilities, the construction and functioning of which you have learned from industry literature.
VR also means applications in the modelled virtual world. An excellent training platform is a faithful representation of work environments with full user interactivity with the virtual world. Learning through experience is the best way to increase competencies and awareness of threats in the workplace. As a member of the future management team responsible for the team, you will learn how to efficiently and effectively train your employees.
VR: You can create it
VRoom being built at WILIGZ is an initiative of the Department of Mining Engineering & Occupational Safety employees. VR is training, work safety, 360 instruction materials, remote meetings, workshops. Applications developed for the needs of VRoom will be used for subjects in the fields of Occupational Safety and Raw Materials Value Chain. You can also become a developer of virtual environments by taking part in the classes offered by WILIGZ in the University Base of Elective Subjects in the Innovation Block. Innovative forms of presenting investment projects include learning how to transfer technical documentation to the VR environment to increase awareness and build corporate social responsibility.
