The directive of the European Parliament and of the Council of the EU was updated in March 2023, which introduced a requirement for all new buildings to meet the zero-emission requirement by 2028 (by 2026, buildings occupied or operated by public authorities and belonging to them are to become zero-emission). . Additionally, by 2028, all new buildings should be equipped with solar energy technologies, where feasible. Increasing formal requirements for new and existing residential buildings result in the search for technical solutions that reduce energy consumption in buildings and ensure the production of heat and electricity using renewable energy sources.
The work focuses on the property of alkaline reactivity of carbonate aggregates. As shown, it is this feature that determines the inappropriateness of certain carbonate aggregates specified by the author for the production of concrete.
