Postgraduate studies – it’s worth it!
The current labour market and the challenges students and graduates face have evolved considerably, and people representing several areas of competence are desirable. It can be seen in the example of the chosen model of study, where young students study two fields of study or choose another field as second-cycle studies to expand the range of their possibilities. The career development planning strategy has changed significantly. The original decision related to the choice of the field of study does not determine further career choices.
“Knowledge Workers” who can grow and solve complex problems are wanted. The primary tool of their work is the mind, and the creation, dissemination or practical use of knowledge is an element of everyday life. Knowledge workers solve problems, analyze, diagnose, meet customer requirements and cooperate in this area with others.
As representatives of education, we follow the needs and trends of the modern world. We build a bridge between the world of business and universities. Postgraduate studies are one of the best examples of connecting these worlds, emphasizing practical knowledge, and inviting business practitioners and scientists to a dialogue. Anyone who has obtained a bachelor’s, engineer’s or master’s degree can enrol.
A significant advantage is a clearly defined goal of education and highly qualified teaching staff, which are co-created by research workers and practitioners from the business world and various organizations. Such cooperation between business and science is critical. Thanks to it, the participants build professional and business contacts. Postgraduate studies are an opportunity for numerous meetings among students who represent various industries and specialities. Networking can result in the emergence of business ideas or initiate inter-institutional cooperation and be the beginning of the implementation of creative projects.

This family business was founded in Lübeck, Germany, in 1889. Over the past five generations, Dräger has developed into a global, publicly-traded group. Dräger employs over 15,000 people worldwide and is represented in over 190 countries. Technologies developed by Dräger are used all over the world.
Between the Faculty and Dräger Polska Sp. z o.o. a partnership was signed to promote educational activities in the area of safety engineering. One of the jointly implemented activities was co-creating the event “Let’s talk about ourselves” for the first time, during which the company’s representatives presented the company’s mission and goals. In addition, thanks to specialized training equipment, they allowed the participants to test themselves and learn about the challenges faced by rescuers during the operation in places with limited visibility and tight spaces.
One of the critical elements of the cooperation is the creation of a specialization in the Postgraduate Studies “Health and Safety at Work” with the domain “Safety in Industry” under the technical patronage of Dräger.
Study programme
Postgraduate studies prepared in cooperation allow you to gain valuable occupational health and safety knowledge. They are addressed to everyone who wants to learn about the principles of functioning and organization of the OHS service in the workplace, methods of estimating and analyzing as well as assessing occupational risk, recognizing and reducing the harmful impact on the health and life of employees of hazards in the work environment. At the same time, graduates will be authorized to apply for senior health and safety inspector and specialist jobs and to hold managerial positions in health and safety services.
This postgraduate studies educational cycle last two semesters. The first semester is intended to overview occupational health and safety issues comprehensively. The second semester, incl. the participation of representatives of Dräger Polska, is devoted to acquiring practical skills.
