As part of the celebrations to mark the 30th anniversary of the Polish National Association of OHS Service Staff Krakow Branch, which will take place on 1st June 2023, the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Resource Management, Prof. Marek Cała, signed a cooperation agreement between the Krakow Branch of the Association and the Faculty.
The Polish National Association of OHS Service Staff Krakow Branch, brings together OHS professionals. Its activities are aimed at promoting occupational safety in companies, integrating the occupational safety and health environment in southern Poland, raising awareness of safety culture and developing the professional knowledge of its members. Over the years, the Department of Mining Engineering and Occupational Safety at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Resource Management has carried out a number of joint initiatives with the main aim of raising awareness of occupational safety.
The activity of the Department, which has been involved in OSH since the very beginning of its establishment, and which runs postgraduate studies in this field, allows for joint activities with the Association, such as co-organising the conference “Occupational Safety – Education and Good Practices”, which every five years brings together the OSH community in Lesser Poland, as well as students and graduates of postgraduate studies at AGH. During the event, Prof. Zbigniew Burtan, Head of the Department of Mining Engineering and Occupational Safety & Head of the Postgraduate Studies in Occupational Safety and Health, and Prof. Marek Cała, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Resource Management, received medals for their contribution to the activities of the Association and the promotion of occupational safety and health. Michał Dworzak, coordinator on behalf of the Faculty and Department and member of the Krakow branch of the Association, was also thanked for his cooperation.
The previous beneficial cooperation has been culminated with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Polish National Association of OHS Service Staff Krakow Branch, represented by its President, Mr Paweł Kania, and its Vice-President, Ms Iwona Pietraszewska, and the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Resource Management at AGH University of Science and Technology, represented by its Dean, Prof. Marek Cała. Within the scope of the planned cooperation, scientific and research works related to the subject of work safety will be initiated, joint projects to improve the qualifications of the Association’s members and FCE&RM students, as well as support in the field of education at the Master’s degree course in Safety Engineering and post-graduate studies, and the initiation of internships and practises for students and graduates of AGH.
