The TOP 2% of scientists

With immense pride and joy, we watch as the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) continues its journey towards scientific excellence. The latest results from the prestigious World’s TOP 2% Scientists listing, published by Stanford University in cooperation with Elsevier, give our university another reason to be proud. It confirms that the hard work and commitment of our researchers bring tangible results on the international stage.

WILiGZ Representation on the Pedestal

In 2022, only one person from our Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy (WILiGZ) made it to this list. This time, we can boast that three of our scientists from this department have been honoured.

Persons on the list:

📖 Prof. Alicja Uliasz-Bocheńczyk

📖 Prof. Piotr Małkowski

📖 Dr. Krzysztof Skrzypkowski, Prof. AGH

This achievement is not only a quantitative jump but, more importantly, a qualitative confirmation of the high level of research and innovation within our academic community.

For AGH, every accolade our scientists receive is an essential signal that we are moving in the right direction – developing research that has a real impact on the advancement of science and technology and, consequently – on the life of each of us.

Appreciation for the Entire Community

Although the TOP 2% list is an important indicator of scientific success, we want to emphasize that every scientist, researcher, and student contributing to the advancement of science at AGH is an invaluable asset to us. Remember, scientific success is not always mirrored in rankings or citation counts. The hard work, passion, and commitment shared by our employees and students every day are also crucial – regardless of whether they are featured in ranking lists or not.

Acknowledgements

Each member of our academic community who daily adds their small stone to the great mountain of knowledge is equally important and valued. This is crucial to recognize, especially in our collective pursuit of scientific excellence. We rejoice at every recognition but also remember the tremendous contribution of those who work daily towards AGH’s success, often remaining out of the spotlight. Thank you all!
